PEACE WRKS

Development Clinic International is involved in the prevention, and resolution of conflict, and in research activities into ways and means of ensuring peace in Nigeria and the world.

Currently, we are carrying out a research on the "Paradigms of Conflict" and a book by that title will be published at the end of the research.

Development Clinic International's Peace and Conflict Activities are carried out based on the "Paradox of Conflict" paradigm of the organization which states that "All Conflicts are Local" and "No Conflict is Local"

In pursuit of its Peace Agenda, Development Clinic was involved in the Workshop for the design of a Peace and Conflict Policy for the Federal Republic of Nigeria at a National Workshop of Stakeholders of Peace Research and Conflict Resolution held at the Nicon Noga Hilton Hotel on the 14th - 15th May 2002 by the Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), The Presidency, Abuja in collaboration with the World Bank, DFID, UNDP, UNESCO and USAID.

Prior to Now, The President of the Development Clinic, Amb. Dele-Israel Ikeorha CMC, MIMC, AFP has been instrumental in Peace Works throughout the African Continent. In April 1997 as the Executive Secretary of the Peace and Unity Corps of Nigeria, he was instrumental to the formation of an African Peace Corps after making proposal for the formation of that body to the Secretary General of the Organization of African Unity then, Dr. Ahmed Salim Ahmed. The Peace and Unity Corps of Nigeria he headed then also submitted a 50 page Memorandum on the "Problem With Nigeria" to the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group CMAG in the pursuit of peace, democracy, and good governance in and for Nigeria.

Development Clinic International focuses on Peace Research and Conflict Prevention, especially by the deepening of democratic values, rule of law and human rights culture into the Nigerian society.
